He is a communications and media expert, and senior correspondent for Newsmax TV. Huddy also served as a Jerusalem-based foreign correspondent for the Fox News Channel (FNC). Huddy has a Master of Science degree in Mass Communications from Florida International University, 2021, emphasizing Global Strategic Communications, and a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Consensus Building. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi national honor society.
As a senior correspondent for Newsmax, John Huddy has covered the War in Ukraine, reporting from the front lines of battle. His in-depth and exclusive reporting garnered attention from Ukrainian military and government officials, and ran lead across the network’s broadcasts. While at the Fox News Channel, Huddy provided live coverage on the war against ISIS in Syria and Iraq and the Syrian refugee crisis. He reported on Operation Protective Edge (the War in Gaza) from Gaza City and southern Israel and has covered the terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank. Huddy also provided live coverage of the Brussels terror attacks, the Ataturk Airport bombing in Istanbul, Turkey, the attempted coup in Turkey, Italy’s deadly earthquakes, and the Catalonian independence bid in Barcelona, Spain.
As a correspondent in Israel, Huddy has also reported on President Trump’s declaration of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the relocation of the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Huddy’s intimate knowledge of the region, the politics, and military threats put him in a unique position to provide print and broadcast reporting on regional issues, including the threat of a multi-front war in Israel with Lebanon, Syria, and Iran. Before joining FNC, Huddy served as an Emmy Award-winning reporter for Fox 5 News at WNYW-TV in New York City. He covered the Occupy Wall Street movement, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the Miracle on the Hudson plane crash, and numerous other national and international headline stories. As a veteran New York and Tri-state region correspondent, Huddy is known for his outstanding live reporting skills. He received an Emmy Award for his work covering the Miracle on the Hudson plane crash and has received multiple Emmy nominations for his breaking, general assignment, and live news coverage, along with winning one Emmy award.
John Huddy started his journalism career while still in his senior year of college as a newspaper reporter and community page editor for the Los Angeles Daily News. He also worked for newspapers in Idaho (Twin Falls Times-News) and New Mexico (Albuquerque Journal), earning investigative, feature, agricultural, and political reporting honors. Before leaping into television, Huddy was also the senior researcher and copy editor for the New York Times best-selling book “Storming Las Vegas.”
Huddy is an avid traveler who has traveled throughout the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Central America, and Europe in his free time. John Huddy is married with a daughter and a son. He was a collegiate athlete, playing Division 3 baseball for the California Lutheran University Kingsmen, and was an all-county high school baseball player.
